  3. Click “create profile”. Search your business name. If your business is already listed and owned by someone else, you can claim ownership. If it wasn’t, you can smoothly go on to the next step.
  4. Choose a business category. On this screen you will be given a list of business categories to choose from. Be keen to choose the category you want customers to identify your business for.
  5. Add a location. On this screen you will have to add the location your shop is located for businesses with storefronts. If your business is a service type, add your area of operation. Google only allows an area within two hour drive radius from your central location.
  6. Add your website and phone number. Use your store phone number and not that of a remote call centre. If you don’t have a website you can use the information from your profile to create a website. Then click finish.
  7. Choose a verification method. You can verify your account through video, sms, call or email. Most of the time Google selects for you how you will be verified but at times you will have to select your desired method.
  8. After successful verification, your business will be visible to the public.

This entire process would take you at most 20 minutes only.
